* STAR WARS (Parte 1)

“Há muito tempo atrás, em uma galáxia muito distante...”

SIM! Hoje começou um dos maiores motivos da minha vinda a Tunísia, conhecer alguns locais onde foi filmado a saga STAR WARS.

Logo que acordei, fui até o hotel que eu comentei no post anterior. Chegando lá, de cara qualquer fã de Star Wars, assim como eu,  reconhece o local como sendo a parte interna da casa dos tios de Luke Skywalker.

George Lucas esteve em Matmata em 1976 gravando as cenas para o Episódio IV e anos mais tarde, em 1997, retornou para gravar no mesmo local cenas dos Episódios I e II.

Até hoje o local permanece com alguns cenários feitos especialmente para o filme.

Seguindo viagem, fui para uma outra cidade próxima chamada nada mais nada menos que Tataouine. Qualquer semelhança com o nome “Tatooine”, planeta onde nasceu Anakin e Luke Skywalker no filme é uma mera coincidência. :P

Sim, George Lucas não só copiou o nome do município como também usou vários locais ao redor dele para dar vida ao seu planeta fictício. Os kzares, como são chamadas as antigas residências aparecem em quase todos os episódios da saga como sendo o Planeta Tatooine.

Feito isso, segui viagem por uma longa estrada deserta onde fazia muito calor e passei por lugares muito peculiares onde antigamente as pessoas viviam em “casas” feitas em buracos no meio das montanhas. Dezenas de mini cavernas de mais de 400 anos atrás ainda intactas que serviam de refúgio para o forte calor da região.

Por fim, segui em direção a Ilha de Djerba, um dos maiores pontos turísticos da Tunísia devido as suas belas praias.

No caminho para Djerba, passando novamente por uma estrada no meio do nada, vi pela primeira vez na vida um deserto salar. É muito interessante a semelhança dos salares com a neve, não só pela cor em si mas também pela consistência quando se pisa pois os sais quebram igual ao gelo.

Em Djerba, aproveitei para curtir uma praia e depois parei em um hotelzinho barato para passar a noite...

"A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away ..."

YES! Today started one of the biggest reasons for my coming to Tunisia, meet some locals where the the STAR WARS saga was filmed.
As soon as I woke up, went to the hotel that I mentioned in the previous post. Arriving there, any Star Wars fan, like me, can recognize the place as the inside house of Luke Skywalker and his uncles.
George Lucas was in Matmata in 1976 shooting scenes for Episode IV and years later, in 1997, returned to recording in the same location scenes of Episodes I and II.
Even today the site still have some scenarios specially made for the film.

Continuing my trip, I went to another nearby town called nothing less than Tataouine. Any similarity to the name "Tatooine" planet where Anakin and Luke Skywalker was born in the film is a mere coincidence. : P
Yes, George Lucas not only copied the name of the municipality as well as used several places around it to give life to his fictional planet. The kzares, how it is called the old dwellings appear in almost every episode of the saga as the planet Tatooine.

A few hours later, followed by a long deserted road trip where it was very hot,  I passed through some very peculiar places where once people lived in "houses" made in holes in the middle of the mountains. Dozens of mini caves built more than 400 years ago and still intact that once served as refuge for the intense heat of the region.

Finally, I went toward the Island of Djerba, one of the famous tourist destinations in Tunisia because of its beautiful beaches.
On the way to Djerba, again passing by a road in the middle of nowhere, I saw for the first time in my life a salar desert. It is very interesting the similarity of the salt flats with snow, not only by the color itself but also by the consistency when you step because the salts break equal to the ice.


In Djerba, took the opportunity to enjoy the beach and then stopped at a cheap little hotel to spend the night.
